I bet it was Brandon gettin those REDS. Were you out today Brandon?
But serious you were probably landing Mangrove Snappers. They are abundant right now. Brandon will teach you how to get Redfish.

Redfish are a little harder and weary than Mangrove Snapper and…yellowtails probally. They do eat shrimp, crabs and just about any other natural bait though. They can also be caught on artificials. The thing is, you can’t just motor in there, throw anchor, beat n bang around in the boat and expect to catch them. They are spooky fish. In the heat of the day (especially during a higher tide) they will be way up under the bushes. Good accurate skips will help you catch more fish. Set up the boat about 20-25ft out from the edge, use your trolling motor to keep you parrallel to them and skip your bait up in ever little ***** and crevace you see. look for fish and fish activity, most of the time if you are paying attention and spook one, you can then see where it went. I would recomend a 6′ – maybe a 6’6 rod, spinning reel, unless you are really great w/ a baitcaster, 30lb braid, 2′ of 40lb floro leader and your choice of bait. For more info Email me
