Am I a good candidate for the University of Florida?
neelyboy99 asked:
I’m a rising senior, and I am ranked 18th of 537 in my class with a 4.326 weighted gpa, 3.88 unweighted. I got a 1220/1600 on the sat, or a 1820/2400. I will be taking it again in september or october. I was in debate for 2 years, am in key club, and the NHS. Does it seem like I have a good shot?
yeah i live in Orlando

I think so. I don’t know specifics but bigger schools have a greater emphasis on your GPA and class rank and your good in both departments.

Possibly although your SAT score reading and math combined is a little low for the University of Florida their accepted students SAT score ranges from 1140 to 1360. If you raise your SAT score you will probably get in. Good Luck.

If you are a FL resident, yes. But, remember that every student needs to apply to safety schools.
At you’ll find tips on the college admissions process. Keep up the good work for another year and you’ll land at a good college.

Look at their website
Most colleges will have similar information on their websites under Prospective students.’ Give their admission office a call and let them know that you are interested in the school. This is a great first step.
I am a school counselor and have worked with hundreds of students and parents. The same questions about how to find the right college or plan for college keep coming up. I decided to set up some online classes (self paced) to answer many of your questions and activities to help in the process. My site is located at globalscholar.com and type in my name Kerrie.
