Cruise is docking in Key West and Cozumel. Any do’s/don’ts in either city?

bmoorbruins93 asked:

I’m going on a cruise later this week that will be docking in Key West and Cozumel. Other than walk around the shops, what are some entertaining things to do in either city? I already know about Hemingway’s house in Key West. What else is there?

Jimmy Buffet has a Margaritavilla Cafe in Key West that is fun to visit, eat, and get a drink.
When I was in Cozumel (cruise stop for me also), we rented scooters and rode inland to see some Mayan ruins and it was really cool. If that sounds interesting, ask at one of the scooter rental places when you get off the ship.

In Key West make sure you go to Mallory Square to see a sunset (Ahhhhhhhhh), visit Sloppy Joe’s for Conch Fritters and a t-shirt, go to Mel Fischer’s Museum to see all the cool things the diver’s brought back from the shipwreck. Drink a margarita, eat some key lime pie and buy some frangipani perfume.

In Cozumel – do some snorkeling, go to San Gervasio. It was once a Mayan ceremonial center for worshipping the fertility goddess, most things in Cozumel center on beach activities, shopping and eating. But that’s why people come there… those activities are at their finest.
