Florida in January?

babyrowe27 asked:

Will it be cold if i go on holiday to Florida in January? I’m thinking of the Keys or maybe Miami but if it’s not going to be good weather then it kind of defeats the purpose of my holiday! Any advice? I need to go in January and want somewhere hot but i can’t take a long haul flight more than about 10 hours from the UK. Help!!!!!!!

Miami or the Keys are generally fine but I’d have a light jacket handy for the evenings or the occasional cold snap. I usually go in the ocean in Miami in January and February but I’m from North Carolina.

You’ll see lots of Canadian snow-birds, some that visit for months at a time.

It can be windy on the beach during winter months. You can get a wind fence at the local beach shops.

We often cruise out of Miami or Fort Lauderdale that time of year. The cost compares favorably with a hotel and eating out. They’ll take you to an even warmer place while you lay around the pool.
