Has anyone been to Longboat Key Florida on the West Coast?

I heard from a coworker that Longboat Key is supposed to be gorgeous with awesome beaches and plenty to do. Is this a nice place for Valentine’s day weekend? How much are the hotels? What is there to do here?? Any places you recommend? Any places to avoid? The more information the better! We are in our early 20’s and do not want to spend the entire weekend at bars, we want more of a romantic, relaxed mood. Thanks in advance!!

    Longboat Key at this time of year is fill with old, rich, snowbirds here to escape the bitter northern winters. For someone your age I would recommend Anna Maria, Siesta Key ,Lido Key or further South to Sanabel or Captiva Islands.
