I’m going to be driving to Key West, Florida. Do I need to bring anything more than my drivers license?
Josh D asked:
I’ll be renting a car to make the drive. Just wondering if I should bring anything else besides my drivers license.
Besides luggage, and my dl, I have a hotel already, I will be there for 2 nights 3 days. The hotel is paid for, what is a good amount of money to plan on spending for those three days (food, entertainment, etc?

Yes, money to buy gas.

No, you should be fine with just your driver’s license. It’s a great drive – have fun!

Lots of money, or a high-limit credit card.

Depends how long of a drive it is. If you’re going to be travelling for more than a day, you should probably pack the basic luggage.

If you will be in Key West for three days you need to remember that it is expensive to live here. If you plan to eat out for three meals a day you probably have to count on about $100 a day for food – I know, it sounds like a lot, but most likely you’ll want to try some of the more well known and/or colorful spots. Breakfast will be cheap if you can get it for $10, count on at least $20 for lunch and about $40 for sure for dinner. And you are expected to tip. And I would add at least another $100 a day for entertainment – tours, drinks, etc. Then add whatever you want to spend in terms of souvenirs, gifts, etc.
