What do the locals in the Florida Keys do?

boobtoob asked:

I’ve been there bunches of times, and I normally snorkel/scuba, go to Mallory Square for the sunset show, go to Herbies restaurant, chill out by the pool at the place we stay, fish, go to Theatre of the Sea, that kind of stuff.

What kind of stuff do the locals do?

What To Stop and See Between Miami and Key West?

Trying Something New asked:

I’m going to Key West in June. Once we get to the Key West, we will be staying 4 nights and 5 days. On the way from Miami, I’d like to stop at some of the other islands and see some of the attractions. I know I can’t see everything. But, what are some interesting and important things to see on the other islands?

Inexpensive honeymoon.from IL to Florida?

zoe asked:

I was doing research on here and people suggested Pensacola as a cheap option..but Key West is the most favored by people here. There were also suggestions for Naples (tho very expensive so that’s out) and St. Augustine..which got my attention because it is based on history and has quaint little shops.

Hmmmm….so many choices. We are going in late Feb early March so hopefully the weather will be nice.

I see on the online website…it gives 300-400 per person for flight AND hotel. My question is…is the 300 to 400 per day? I’m probably reading that wrong, right?

Plus how do you match all the times on it? Like, how do you get the airplane to arrive at the same time as check-in…etc?

Also…can we each have just one carryon per person? (2 people) I’ll just have to jam pack everything in there enough for 4 days. Will that cut costs on luggage fees?

Please help thanks
Does this also include getting back? Or is that a different price, flying back?
I like expedia.com as the site to use. I see that flying to Key West is VERY EXPENSIVE! Any inexpensive options?

FUNNIEST JOKES of 08?

*Let’s Laugh* A.K.A. Hancock asked:

A husband and wife are traveling by car from Key West to Boston. After almost twenty-four hours on the road, they’re too tired to continue, and they decide to stop for a rest. They stop at a nice hotel and take a room, but they only plan to sleep for four hours and then get back on the road.

When they check out four hours later, the desk clerk hands them a bill for $350. The man explodes and demands to know why the charge is so high. He tells the clerk although it’s a nice hotel, the rooms certainly aren’t worth $350. When the clerk tells him $350 is the standard rate, the man insists on speaking to the manager.

The manager listens to the man and then explains the hotel has an Olympic-sized pool and a huge conference center that were available for the husband and wife to use. He also explains they could have taken in one of the shows for which the hotel performs here, explains the manager. No matter what facility the manager mentions, the man replies, But we didn’t use it!

The manager is unmoved and eventually the man gives up and agrees to pay. He writes a check and gives it to the manager. The manager is surprised when he looks at the check. But sir, he says, this check is only made out for $100.

That’s right, says the man. I charged you $250 for sleeping with my wife.

But I didn’t! exclaims the manager.

Well, the man replies, she was here, and you could have.

Surveys Here’s how to keep all that political news in perspective?

♥kisses♥ asked:

1. The Wall Street Journal is read by the people who run the country (well I read that one myself when I have the time)

2. The Washington Post is read by people who think they run the country.

3. The New York Times is read by people who think they should run the country and who are very good at crossword puzzles.

4. USA Today is read by people who think they ought to run the country but don’t really understand The New York Times. They do, however, like their statistics shown in pie charts.

5. The Los Angeles Times is read by people who wouldn’t mind running the country, if they could find the time – and if they didn’t have to leave Southern California to do it.

6. The Boston Globe is read by people whose parents used to run the country and did a poor job of it, thank you very much.

7. The New York Daily News is read by people who aren’t too sure who’s running the country and don’t really care as long as they can get a seat on the train.

8. The New York Post is read by people who don’t care who is running the country as long as they do something really scandalous, preferably while intoxicated.

9. The Miami Herald is read by people who are running another country but need the baseball scores.

10. The San Francisco Chronicle is read by people who aren’t sure if there is a country or that anyone is running it; but if so, they oppose all that they stand for. There are occasional exceptions if the leaders are handicapped minority feminist atheist dwarfs who also happen to be illegal aliens from any other country or galaxy, provided of course, that they are not Republicans.

11. The National Enquirer is read by people trapped in line at the grocery store.

12. The Seattle Times is read by people who have recently caught a fish and need something to wrap it in.

13. The Key West Citizen is read by people who escaped from the mainland and could give a crap who runs the country as long as they have enough booze to keep themselves going.

Could someone stay in a men’s shelter in the Florida Keys durring the winter, or are they dangerous?

ghost asked:

I’m asking because I know it would be free, where you would have to pay a lot of money to stay in an RV, or at a hotel all winter.
I’d like to try staying in the Florida Keys, or Miami sometime.

7 Days;Where should we roadtrip? FROM ORLANDO, FL?

DeliaS asked:

Hey Everyone!
A bunch of my college friends and myself decided to take a roadtrip during our 7 day spring break (I know it’s not a huge amount of time) but anyways I have no idea how/where to go since we’ve never done it before. We are leaving from Orlando, FL and I think we really want to go somewhere either close or far with natural beauty, we are all very outdoorsy. We’re looking to pretty much drive and sleep in the car, maybe get a hotel one night. I would love any ideas or places we should go or stop, I was thinking TN but we’re open to suggestions. If you could please provide any experience or tips it would be awesome as well as suggestions of places! Thank you soo much!!

*I want to emphasize we LIVE in Florida, and most of us have for all of our lives. We’ve done the whole Everglades things and we’re only 40 minutes from Daytona. We would like to somewhere different. Also, we don’t party or drink so Key West is NOT somewhere we could want to go. Thanks!
P.S. Our Spring Break is March 10-15th if that helps
